How getting a Pomeranian puppy in Des Moines works
- Book a WhatsApp video call. Choose a time on our booking calendar. We call you from the breeder with the puppies on camera.
- Choose your puppy. Ask about parents, size expectations, temperament and health records. Exact pricing is confirmed per puppy.
- Travel preparation. Your puppy gets the vet exam, vaccinations, microchip and paperwork required for the trip. See our import rules guide for what applies to puppies coming from abroad.
- Arrival in Des Moines. Depending on where your puppy is coming from, we arrange an in-cabin flight nanny to Des Moines International (DSM) or ground delivery, and you get updates along the way.
About age: U.S. federal rules (CDC and USDA) require any dog entering the United States, including from Canada, to be at least 6 months old on arrival, with a microchip, vaccinations and an import permit for dogs sold. So puppies we bring into the U.S. from our breeders abroad are older puppies, fully vaccinated and past the most fragile baby stage. Details are in our import rules guide.
Video calls from Des Moines
All showings happen live on WhatsApp video, booked in your own time zone (CST). Seoul is 15 hours (14 during daylight saving time) ahead of Des Moines. A 7 pm call in Des Moines lands at 10 am the next morning in Korea, which is why evening slots work well for seeing puppies from our Korean breeders. Puppies from our Canadian and Mexican breeders are easy to see during the day.
Raising a Pomeranian in Des Moines
Des Moines has cold, snowy winters. Good news: Pomeranians come from Spitz sled-dog stock and most love cold weather. Puppies under about four months still chill fast, so keep early outings short, wipe paws after salted sidewalks and towel off snow clumps from the leg feathering. Summer is the season to watch more closely.
